Latest Phishing Scam: Fake Linkedin Invitations
Our clients have been recieving emails inviting them to link with high profile individuals… only problem? It’s a phishing scam!
Boy am I glad this client asked me first, instead of clicking on the links!
Take a look at this email:
As you can see, this email looks somewhat credible, and many of our clients may be tempted to confirm a connection with a high-profile individual that could potentially benefit their business. We’re all looking for ways to form connections that will work for us in positive ways.
All I have to do is mouse over the embedded links in the email to see that this didn’t come from Linkedin at all.
NEVER click on a link ANYWHERE without first hovering your mouse over it to see where it really leads.
Our client did the right thing by forwarding this to me, and asking the simple question “Does this look genuine” Answer: NO!
KWD is always here for our clients, no matter what you may need to ask. Contact us today!
