Be careful about a new scam where you get a call or text message claiming to be from Amazon security and claiming they are trying to stop a fraudulent sale. There is a recent article that has all of the details. Click Here to Read it.
Also, I had a client with the misfortune to get scammed by a call purporting to be from Microsoft re: virus problems with her computer.
Microsoft and Amazon will never call you, so please be very skeptical and never give passwords, security codes, credit cards or bank account info to someone over the phone or text. Always contact the company directly and NOT using a number that was given to you by the person contacting you.
It’s a shame the world is so full of these crooks and scammers, so be careful.
